In the chapter, "Word and Spirit" (again larger subjects, cellcept price canada but fascinating and engaging ones to the Christian reader, and others I think), the author says what is extraordinary, or ordinary about the Christian human being. As someone who feels comfortable public speaking, always has, and receives excellent reviews on his public speaking:

    • Practice the talk. At least twice in front of a trusted audience who will tell you like it is. You'll learn where you slow down or trip up, and find a way to better summarize your points.
    • Walk around. You have space. Use it. It emanates power, and shows how comfortable you are.
    • If you want to add an addendum, like a little side note that's usually whispered, walk forward--closer to the audience--and say it in a slightly lower voice. It gets the message across.
    • Do not be afraid to use your hands, but pay attention to your body language. Do not let them flail around in confusion. Use them to enhance your ideas.
    • It's okay to be nervous; I'm nervous every time before I talk. Here's a secret: we're all nervous before it. We don't show it because we prepare.
    • After many different talks, you'll begin to need to practice less and less.
    • Time yourself during your practice and during your talk. You will either need to slow down near the end to take up your time, or omit details. Do not be afraid to skip information or to spend extra time elaborating on something with an anecdote (but only an extremely relevant one).
    • Lastly, dress the part.

I can see your viewpoint on the coldness of it, it's my personal demeanor. I've seen and heard so much I'm just pretty much numb to everything. But I do agree with the fact that when someone has to take another's life, it isn't exactly pleasant. Last summer I worked a summer job with a young man who was a year older than myself and had just graduated. (We went to the same school.) He was a nice kid, you could tell he had some issues at home and was a little funny in the head but he worked as hard as anyone and was generally a very pleasant person. But come December 2012, just a few weeks before Christmas, I hear on the local news he was shot dead trying to rob a convenience store with a BB gun. BB guns look very real and do not have the orange band indicating they're toys (which they are not). The two clerks on duty and the manager in the back reacted and shot and killed him with two handguns and a shotgun. I don't feel sorry for him and I wholly agree that he got what he deserved, but it was still a shock. I knew him and liked him, but in the end there were consequences for his actions. As for the tinnitus, I don't know if you have ever fired a gun before but I have and can assure you that they are insanely loud. You have to remember a gunshot is a small controlled explosion contained in a metal pipe. According to this website, http://www.gcaudio.com/resources/howtos/loudness.html, a little .22LR gunshot is still 144 dB and a 12ga. shotgun is 165 dB which means the shotgun is about four times as loud as the .22LR. My guess is that the officer was using a 9mm which is probably somewhere in between. The officer likely didn't have time to put in his earplugs, and even then they don't always help. I hope this clears things up!

I too would try and take a stand; i'd counter the alien's advanced technology and destructive ambitions with Muse's Knights of Cydonia.

The chorus alone is enough to reduce an interstellar mind to putty.
